Back in Namche Bazaar

I came back to Namche yesterday, from Gokyo via Renjo-La after two weeks up above 4000 mtrs. Namche seemed almost empty, since Lukla airstrip has been closed for six days due to poor visibility.

Today the weather is fine here though, and we have heard many helicopters. Tomorrow i start walking out towards Tumlingtar. It should take about nine days. Hopefully I can get a flight there back to Kathmandu. Else it is another two days walking and a 24 hours bus ride back to K.

All is well. Today I have had my first shower in over a week, and washed my dirty underwear and socks. Feel like a new man.

Hi Lasse. Finaly finding yr blogg again and happy to read about yr adventures in the Himalayas.Myself Im just back after a couple of days in Norweigan airspace. It can be a demanding task sometimes mostly because of challenging weather conditions up there.Windy, snowy,a lot of turbulence and because of the warm weather a lot of freezing fog that frozens up our aircrafts and engines!!! So when are you beginning your bike ride down the hills to India. Take care and lots of greetings from rest of the family. Orjan, hoping for some skating in the near future....
